Our House ABQ

The creation and preservation of housing units affordable for all Albuquerque families is the basis for sustaining vibrant communities.  Right now with land and housing costs increasing much more rapidly than salaries, more than 25% of Albuquerque families earn low and moderate incomes and are facing some kind of housing affordability issue.

Our House ABQ is a City of Albuquerque educational effort produced by the UNM School of Architecture & Planning and the City of Albuquerque in collaboration with the Albuquerque Affordable Housing Coalition. The effort is intended to:

  • Increase public awareness of affordable housing concerns in Albuquerque
  • Provide information to those who need help finding affordable housing
  • Provide information to those who are involved in affordable housing development
  • Inform those who just want to know more about the issue of affordable housing

Our House ABQ provides information, resources, and a place for discussion about:

  • Housing conditions in Albuquerque;
  • Housing services available to Albuquerque residents;
  • The Workforce Housing Opportunity Act (WHOA), and the Workforce Housing Plan; and
  • Policy discussions about the best way to solve Albuquerque’s housing problems.
